Reviews for Fender 50s Precision Bass (with Gig Bag)
Feature: Great features! Some aren't crazy about an anodized pickguard, but it really looks good and it will last for a loong time. The neck is certainly the best feature. Nice vintage style maple neck, comfortable, GREAT action. I did change the strings, though. I went with flats for the warm tone. If you do stick to nickels, I would suggest getting coated ones. Scratching the fretboard would be upsetting.
Quality: Primo quality. Genuine Fender. What else can you say?
Value: Awesome value for the proce. The '50's style is striking and it won't damage your wallet.
Desirability: VERY appealing. The main feature is the maple neck, no rosewood. IT really complements the gold pickguard and the black body (which is what I got).
Sound: This bass sounds GREAT! I just recently purchased it and put it through the works. What a better way to test it than with some IRON MAIDEN tunes. This bass played fantastic. Even though the pickups are passive, it sounds SOO good. The split-P sounds fantastic. They are on an interesting angle too, which looked cool from a player's view.
Ease of Use: If you can't use a bass, send it back. Can't get any easier.
Support: Didn't need support, hence the mid-level 5 rating.
Overall: Definitely will buy more Fender Precisions. This was my first and I LOVE it!
